35 years passed to the day when Bedig Injeyian gave his life, while fighting for his dream and the dream of all Armenians, to have a Free Independent and United Armenia.

 On Friday, May 27, during an event organized by the educational Council of the ARF “G. Ler” Committee, the ashes of the Martyr, Bedig Injeyian, brought from Paris were buried to find their eternal peace in his beloved Anjar, in the presence of his friends, relatives, members of the ARF LEM and Badaniner and HMEM scouts and fanfare, who gathered to pay their respect and witness the official funeral service of the Martyr Bedig Injeyian, which took place in the Anjar Cemetery.

The commemorative event continued in the “S. Zeitlian” Center, where after the Lebanese and the Armenian anthems, Khajag Hergelian said the opening words on behalf of the organizing committee, talking about the life, thoughts and hopes of the martyr, who became an example of self sacrifice and patriotism.

A PowerPoint presentation was shown, prepared by the ARF LEM “Sh. Misakian” Chapter, representing the life, work and martyrdom of Bedig Injeyian, which was followed by a song, written and composed in the memory of the martyr, presented by Nareg Vartanian.

A close friend of childhood and thoughts of the Martyr, Movses Hergelian, talked about his own memories and impressions from the life of the martyr and represented them in a authentic way. He said that Bedig Injeyian was a person filled with goodness, patriotism, intelligence, justice, and a great capability of solving problems, he was humble, plain, and had the ability to attract others with his convincing thoughts, continued Movses Hergelian.

After a poem recited by Irma Dedeyian, Peter Karageozian, represented Bedig Injeyian as a great member of the ARF who became an example with his life and martyrdom filling our hearts with pride, and after 35 years to his martyrdom, Bedig Injeyian still seeks the fulfillment of his supreme dream and the dream of all Armenian martyrs which is to continue the fight for the Armenian cause its language, culture, literature, and church.

On Wednesday, May 25, Baljian Haroutyun passed away at the age of 79 in the United States, the same day in Anjar Garabed Bilenjain died at the age of 92.

On Friday, May 27, Apraham Kadian passed away at the age of 82 and on Monday May 30, Marie Aprahamian passed away at the age of 90.

Organized by the Lebanese Wu Shu Kung Fu Federation and Anjar Black Belt Amity Committee, the Lebanese championship for the Wu Shu clubs took place in the “K. Gulbenkian” Hall of Anjar, on Sunday, May 22, where the participants; Alex Adajian, Avo Stamboulian, Barouyr Ghougasian, Sella Hekimian, Christine Arabian, Harout Taghlian, Haygazoun Kevorkian, Paul Demirjian, Sosse Kazanjian, Talar Kendirjian, Yesoug Stamboulian and Zakar Zakarian won 18 gold, 8 bronze and 5 silver medals , ranking 2nd in position in the Tao Lu competition for the year 2011.                                                           

The students of the 3 schools of the village celebrated May 28, Armenian Independence, day where the ARF LEM “Shavarsh Misakian” members were present to conduct the salutation ceremony of the Armenian and Lebanese flags. Worth mentioning that throughout the week the schools had different programs dedicated to the occasion.

On Friday May 20th, all the women of Anjar were invited to celebrate mothers’ day in Restaurant “Arev’, during an event organized by the women’s committee of the Evangelical Church of Anjar.

After the opening words said by Mrs. Liza Tumberian, who welcomed the women present, Mrs. Nora Terzian, talked about steps to understand the psychological needs of a child and ways to fulfill them.

 The conductor of the celebration Mrs. Dzaghig Habeshian, entertained the presents by telling stories related to motherhood and later invited them to dance on the stage.

On Saturday, May 14, the parents of the "Haratch K. Gulbenkain" students were invited to celebrate mothers’ day in the “K. Gulbenkian” Hall.

Lena Stamboulian, The kindergarten instructor, welcomed the guests specially the mothers who have come to celebrate their special day.

The kindergarten students sang songs and recited poems for the occasion, Tsoler Doumanian recited a poem, Raffi Taslakian played on the trumpet and the school dance group gracefully presented a traditional Armenian Dance.

 The speaker of the day, Mrs. Salpi Tashjian, presented motherhood as a divine act of sacrifice and the dedication and perseverance that is expected from a mother especially Armenian mothers who have to show enormous commitment to raise their children as Armenians in the Diaspora.

Following the celebration the attendants were invited to the opening ceremony of the drawing and painting exhibition in the “Haratch” Kindergarten, where the talents of the K. G. students were revealed

The importance of self confidence in the educational path of children and the significance of its presence to achieve good career positions in the future, was the topic presented by Mrs. Shaghig Kandaharian Khudaverdian, during the mothers’ day celebration of the Arm. Eva. Sec. School of Anjar.

The opening words of the event were said by Mrs. Nathalie Kendirjian, who welcomed the attendants and invited the kindergarten students to sing songs and recite poems for the occasion, Naroy Atamian to recite a poem and “Narin” dance group to perform on the stage.

Rev. Raffi Messerlian, after talking about the huge responsibilities of motherhood that starts even before giving birth to a child and the importance of Christian principles in educating children, invited the speaker of the day, Shaghig Kandaharian Khudaverdian, who talked about steps to be followed to raise a child with strong and self confident character which is of great importance in overcoming obstacles and accomplishing expectations.    

A special mass was held in the “St. Boghos” Church on Sunday, May 9, for the souls of the late LOKH members, which was followed by a formal reception in the “K. Gulbenkian” Hall, where representatives of associations and unions were present and were invited to say words of gratitude and appreciation for the great health facilitations the chapter has introduced in the village.

 On Saturday, April 30th, at 6:00pm, Barkev Der Ohanessian and Houry Stamboulian, were blessed with the Holy Matrimony.

The elder compatriots of our village were invited to a feast in Restaurant “Arev” to celebrate Easter, during a gathering organized by the LOKH "Aghtamar" Chapter, on Wednesday, 27 April, starting from 2:00pm.

 The conductor of the feast, Sebouh Boyajian, created a cheerful atmosphere by telling funny stories and entertaining the attendants with amusing games.
