  • “Michink”, Midst Of Fasting Season

    Michink, which represents the middle of the fasting season prior to Easter, was commemorated in the “St. Boghos” Church of Anjar, on Wednesday, 30th of March, in the presence of a large number of believers as well as  the students and teachers of The “Harach”, “K. Gulbenkian” Sec. School.

                                       

                                  

    After the hymns performed specially for the fasting season, Rev. Father Ashod Karakashian, spoke about the importance of applying the religious principals in our everyday life to keep our Armenian and spiritual identity alive.

                                   

     And like every year in “Michink”, the Women’s committee of the “St. Boghos” church, distributed breakfast to the attendants.


  • “Physical and Psychological Welfare of Children”

    Under the auspices of MP Arthur Nazarian, Municipality of Anjar, Restaurant “Nabaa Anjar”, “Domanco” SARL and by the organization of LOKH Central Committee, “Araksi Boulghourjian” Healthcare Center and in collaboration with the LOKH “Aghtamar” Chapter of Anjar, lectural gatherings about the physical and psychological health of children, were organized, on three consecutive Saturdays.

                                                  

                                    

                                                 

     On Saturday, 19th of March, at 10:00 am, the topic “the reasons of children’s failure in schools and ways of improvement” was given by, child psychiatrist, Rita Parmaksezian, and on the 26th of March the topic “Parent-Child relationship” was delivered by, child psychiatrist, Silva Papazian.


  • Chocolate and Pastry Making Course

    The LOKH "Aghtamar" Chapter organized a pastry and chocolate making course for the women of Anjar, which was delivered in two sessions; on Thursday 24th and Friday 25th of March, from 9 to 12am, in the “Filhannssian” Center.

     

                     

                                

    Mrs. Parantsem Kelian, who has great experience in the profession, explained and demonstrated the ways and secrets of making chocolates and sweets in a successful way.


  • Tribute To A Member of The Anjar Black Belt Amity

    The Lebanese Kung Fu Wu Shu federation organized a gathering in “Bel Horizon” Adma, to honor the exceptional junior Athletes of the Lebanese Kung Fu Wu Shu clubs, and amongst them was Sosse Kazanjian from the Anjar Black Belt Amity. 

                                                 

    We congratulate the Anjar Black Belt Amity for creating athletes such as Sosse, wishing them further success and dedication.


  • Obituary

    With our deepest sorrow we inform you about the death of Jaklin Kazanjian, who passed away on the 21st of March, at the age of 50.

     The funeral service took place on the 22nd of March, at 2 pm. in the “St. Boghos” Church of Anjar.


  • “Gargach” Choir In Anjar

    Hamazkayine’s “Gargach” Choir had a performance in the “K. Gulbenkian” Hall, on Sunday, 20th of February, during an event sponsored by the Municipality of Anjar and organized by the Hamazkayine “B. Sevag” Chapter.

                              

     Zakar Keshishian conducted the choir, who performed to commemorate the 125th anniversary of Parsegh Ganachian and deserved the amazement of the audience.


  • Anjar Black Belt Amity, The First In The “Wu Shu Kung Fu” Competition

    The Lebanese “Wu Shu Kung Fu” Federation organized the “Lebanon Cup” competition, in “Country Lodge” in Bsalim, where president of the federation Goerge Nasir and vice presidents Jack Daghelian and Naoum Saade were present.

                                                   

    6 clubs participated in the competition and the Anjar Black Belt Amity, with its talented members, achieved the first position.

  • "Harach, K. Gulbenkian"’s “Dohmig Yerego”

    On Saturday, 12th of March, the parents’ committee of the “Harach” “K. Gulbenkian” Sec. School organized a traditional Anjarian Night, “Dohmig Yerego”, in restaurant “Arev”.

                   

      

     The conductor of the feast, Barkev Taslakian, and the singer of the day, Kevork Madarian, created a joyous atmosphere for the guests and the parents present.


  • Levon Tashjian Continues Harvesting Medals!!!

    On Sunday, 27th of February, Levon Tashjian participated in the “Wisam Id” Marathon, representing HMEM Anjar and achieved the 4th place in the category of his age.

                                                    

    We congratulate “Yeghpayr” Levon and wish him further triumphs.


  • International Day Of Prayer

    Every year a day in March, women all around the world gather and pray for a certain country, which is previously selected by the International Prayer Day Committee.

    On Monday, 7th of March, the women of Anjar  gathered in the Armenian Evangelical Church of Anjar, to pray for Chile, in an event arranged by the Arm. Evan. Women’s committee.

     

    The prayer was directed by Mrs. Seta Karageozian and the country was presented by miss Shake Geokjian, who talked briefly about Chile, its people, their qualities and difficulties.

     Later the women were invited to the “Jambazian” Hall for coffee and cookies…


  • 25 Years To The Martyrdom of Zaven Tashjian

    25 years ago the cruel hands of injustice and crime reached a patriot , a father and a great Anjarian, Zaven Tashjian, a martyrdom that left his wife, 3 children and a whole village in grief…

    On Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 4:30 pm, Zaven Tashjian’s grave became a shrine, where the family members of the martyr, members of the ARF Central and “Garmir Ler” committees, religious fathers, representatives of associations and unions, and a large number of compatriots were present, to pay yet another respect to the martyr and fortify the determination of continuing the fight for the Armenian cause.

    After placing flowers on the grave, a prayer was held for the soul of the martyr and the HMEM fanfare played lyrics while family and friends lighted candles for the soul of Zaven Tashjian and for all who left the world fighting for a greater and supreme cause.

                             

     The official part of the commemoration event started at 6:00pm in the "K. Gulbenkian" hall, where Lousig Der Kalousdian, after welcoming the guests on behalf of the Educational Committee, talked briefly about the life and work of Zaven Tashjain and demanded the continuation of his mission that was left unfinished.

                      

    A power point presentation representing the life, beliefs and feelings of the martyr was presented to the audience.

    Representative of the ARF “Garmir Ler” Committee, Raffi Kevorkian, talked about the social life of the martyr as a member of the HMEM Anjar, a founder of the Hamazkayine “B.Sevag” Chapter and a member of the ARF juniors and LEM, all stages in the life of the martyr who have united to create a strong and determined compatriot who never gave up when encountered with obstacles.

                                             

    Kevork Bebejian participated in the event with 3 favorite songs of Zaven Tashjian and Arpa Andonian Senabian recited a poem “Nayiryan Ganach Pardi” one of the preferred poems of the martyr.

    The conclusive words were made by the ARF Central Committee representative, Dikran Jimbashian, who said that martyrdom is an inseparable part of the life of an ARF member and continued by paying a special tribute to the martyrs that fell in the Lebanese Civil War.

    The event ended with the “Meshag Panvor” anthem.


  • Commemorating “Vartanank”

    The commemoration event of “Vartanak” took place on Thursday, 3rd of March, in the Armenian Catholics’ Hall, by the organization of the educational Committee of the ARF “Garmir Ler” Committee.

                                

    After the Lebanese and the Armenian anthems, Rita Lakissian made the opening words on behalf of the organizing committee and invited the first speaker of the day, Hrayr Jebejian.

    Jebejian related the movements happening today in the region with the requests and the happenings that took place in the period when “Avarayr” battle occurred. He also reminded the audience about the problems in Artsakh specially the newly occupied regions.

     The second speaker of the day was Armen Tashjian, principal of the “Harach” “K. Gulbenkian" Sec. School, who gave a historical overview about the “Avarayr” battle and February Rebellion, and continued talking about the today worries concerning Armenia and the nature of its relationships with its neighbors .

                                       

    The event continued with a movie presentation about the women of Gharabakh and their role in the Gharabakh conflict.

    The event ended with a prayer and the blessings of the religious fathers.


  • Obituary

    On Saturday, 26th of February Sima Sherbechian passed away at the Age of 84, the funeral service took place the same day in the “St. Boghos” church.

     On Thursday, 3rd of March, Hovhannes Tashjian died at the age of 95, the funeral service took place on Friday in the “St. Boghos” Church.

  • A Meeting to Discuss Social and Economical Conditions in Gharabakh

    On Sunday, 27th of February, a meeting was held in “Sarkis Zeitlian” center where Tavit Ishkhanian, Chairman of the ARF Central Committee of Garabakh and Vahram Baghdsasarian, supervisor in the ministry of agriculture, talked about the efforts done in Artsakh to revive the living standards of Artsakhians and specially projects that are ongoing in Kelpachar region. There were many questions from the audience concerning developments in Shoushi and generally in the everyday life of Artsakhians.

                                

     The two lecturers focused on the current situation in Artsakh and the importance of the help from Armenian Diaspora.


  • Wine Anointment of the “Aghparig Apig Me Chour” By George Apelian

    “Aghparig Apig Me Chour” by Author George Apelian, talks about recollections from the Armenian Genocide told by families of survivors, including survivors who were “adopted” by Islam families and have done a great deal to reunite with their siblings and relatives.

     

    On Saturday, 26th of February, at 7:00 pm, the wine anointment of the book “Aghparig Apig Me Chour” was held in the “S. Zeitlian” center. The book was presented by Shahan Kandaharian, editor of the Aztag Daily, also words were said by Artist Ara Azad, painter of the cover picture of the book, also Laurie Aintablian played a piece on the Piano.

                                            

    The book was blessed by the religious fathers and handed to the Author…

                                                          


  • "Mher Choulhajian" Awards

    On Friday, 25th of February, during an event that took place in the “Levon and Sofia Hagopian” college Hall, 6 students from the schools of Anjar were granted awards for accomplishing good results in the essay writing contest, dedicated to the memory of the Lebanese martyr in the Artsakhian combat, Mher Chulhajian.

                     

    Varak Dukenjain, Sima Jaberian, Ani Taslakian and Arpa Tashjian from the “Harach” “K.Gulbenkian” secondary school and Laurie Aintablian and Arpa Aintablian from the Arm Evan. Sec. School, were granted symbolic and financial awards by the contribution of the family of the Martyr…
