The LOKH "Aghtamar" Chapter organized an Armenian Karaoke night, in restaurant “Nabaa” Anjar, on the 25th of February, starting from 8:00pm.

The women present enjoyed a joyous evening and almost everyone had the chance to sing Armenian songs and dance on its tunes.

Anjarians celebrate the “St. Sarkis” day in a unique way different from other Armenians around the globe.

Almost every family in the village prepare and bake the famous Anjarian traditional “Kumba” (a traditional Cake) and some Anjarians even gather in the local bakeries to bake it and later share it with neighbors and relatives.

Mari Kurdian passed away on Thursday, 18th of February, at the age of 78.

The funeral service took place on Friday, at 1:00 pm in the “St. Boghos” Church.

Healthy foods, Eating Habits, illnesses that can be prevented through diets, and other issues were amongst the topics discussed and presented during a lecture given by Kohar Vartanian Keshishian, in the “Filhannessian” Center, on Thursday, 17th of February at 11:00 am, in a electoral event organized by the LOKH “Aghtamar” Chapter.

30 comrades of the LOKH “Aghtamar Chapter” along with a large number of LOKH members from different branches of Lebanon, participated in the oath giving celebration, which took place in the “Hagop Der Melkonian” Hall on Saturday, 5th of February, starting from 10:30 am, in an event organized by the LOKH central committee.

We congratulate the new members of the LOKH “Aghtamar” Chapter and we wish them success and perseverance in their work.

On Monday, 14th of February, Yessayi Geokjian passed away after suffering from illness for a long period of time. The funeral service took place on Tuesday, February 15, in the “St. Boghos” Church.

A garage sale was organized by the LOKH “Aghtamar” chapter on Friday, 11 February, starting from 10:00am, in the “Filhannessian” center.

Besides purchasing the household equipment and the clothing sold there, the visitors had the chance to taste the delicious “Sahlab” prepared by the LOKH comrades…

Anna Majarian passed away at the age of 84 on Thursday, February 10, 2011.

The funeral service took place on Friday, February 11, at 2:00pm in the “St. Boghos” church of Anjar.

An officer of the municipality of Anjar accompanied by an employee of the electricity company have been visiting the houses of Anjar and offering 3 energy saving light balls to acquire 3 ordinary light balls instead.

The municipality of Anjar started executing the project, organized by the Lebanese Electricity Ministry, in collaboration with the Lebanese municipalities, in an attempt to reduce the electricity consumption due to usage of ordinary light balls.

We sadly inform about the death of our compatriot, Aram Andekian, (born 1927) which happened on Monday February 1.

The funeral service took place on Tuesday, at 2:00pm, in the “St. Boghos” Church.
