Celebrating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Anjar and the 95th anniversary of the Mousa Daghian heroic battle, the administrative Committee of the HMEM Anjar Chapter organized a ball on Saturday, 27th of November, in restaurant Nabaa Anjar.

Miss Sevan Atamian conducted the feast to invite the singer of the day Ararad Aharonian, who created a festive mood amongst the attendants.

On Saturday, 27th of November Mr. and Mrs. David and Lory Karayian were blessed with their second child, Mher, brother of Bedo.

“Water Is Life” was the logo of the Radiothon 2010, which was broadcasted from "Voice of Van" all day of the 25th of November 2010 and dedicated Anjarians participated in the Radiothon by donating their contributions to the Hayastan all Armenian Fund Lebanon, Anjar branch, whose members worked till the late hours of the day to gather a sum of more than 10.5 million Lebanese pounds as donations…

The ARF "Garmir Ler" Committee members, The Mayor of Anjar, the religious representatives, the students of the three schools and a huge number of Anjarians participated in a protest in Martyrs’ Square in down town Beirut, against the visit of the Prime minister of turkey, rajab tayeb erdoghan, to Lebanon.

The Anjarians, along with the protestors from Beirut gathered in the Martyrs’ square, to express their rejection and objection to the visit and say that the turks have not only massacred the Armenian but also killed thousands of Lebanese in the 2nd world war. 

On Saturday, 20th of November, at 7:30pm, a discussion meeting was organized by the Hamazkayin “B. Sevag” Chapter, where Mourad Hasartian press member of the Science Academy of Armenia and Ararad Aghasian president of the supreme establishment of the science Academy of Armenia were invited to discuss about the Armenian art its categories and history.

The Kindergarten students of the three schools of the village headed towards the municipality of Anjar to congratulate the Mayor, Mr. Garo Pamboukian, the Lebanese Independence Day.

The students innocently recited poems, sang songs and handed symbolic gifts to the mayor and in their turn the municipality council offered gifts to the children.

The Parents’ Committee of the “Haratch” “K. Gulbenkian” Secondary School organized a breakfast feast in Restaurant “Nabba Anjar” on Friday, 19th of November starting from 10 am, for the financial benefaction of the school.

The conductor of the gathering, Mrs. Santoukhd Hergelian, created a pleasurable atmosphere where the attendants danced and enjoyed the delicious food.

The Mousa Daghain Artist, Neshan Der Kalousdian, held a painting exhibition in the Fresno Municipality Hall in October, where paintings of familiar scenes from Anjar were exhibited.

The purpose of the painter was to transfer the income of the exhibition to the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Anjar and the 95th anniversary of the Mousa Daghian heroic battle, which took place during August 2010 in Anjar.

Mrs. Sonia Zavzavatian, who frequently has participated in seminars that discuss news about cancer, was invited to give a lecture in the “Mousaler” Hall on Friday, 12th of August at 4:00pm.

The event was organized by the LOKH “Aghtamar” Chapter, and the opening words were made by Miss Tsoghig Havatian, on behalf of the organizing committee.

Mrs. Sonia Talked about ways of preventing cancer, and convinced the audience that through strong belief and determination it’s possible to overcome all illnesses.

With our greatest grief we inform you the death of our compatriot, Mr. Sarkis Pamboukian, which happened on Saturday, 13th of November.

The funeral services took place on Sunday at 2 pm, in the “St. Asdvadzadzin” Church.

The Parents’ Committee of the Armenian Catholic Sisters’ School organized a gathering over breakfast on Friday, 12th of November in Restaurant “Nabaa Anjar”.

The women present ate the delicious breakfast and enjoyed the pleasant mood created by the conductor of the event Mrs. Shogher Tumberian Deirmenjian.

2 compatriots from Anjar participated in the Beirut Marathon organized by the international marathon committee of Beirut, which took place on the 7th of November. Along with 28 thousand joggers from 86 countries, Levon Tashjain and Simoni Nersessian ran 42 kilometers in the streets of Beirut and were able to complete the course successfully.

 Worth mentioning that Levon Tashjian was able to complete the course in 4 hours and 45 minutes and came the 6th in rank in the category of his age.

We sadly inform you the death of our compatriot Vahe Ashkarian, which happened on Friday, October 30th, due to long term illness, the funeral service took place on Saturday, in the “St Boghos” Church of Anjar.

On Thursday 4th of November, Sarkis Keshishian passed away after suffering from short term illness. The funeral services will take place on Friday in the "St. Boghos" Church.
