On Friday 14 May, 2010, the Jubilee Committee gave an official visit to the ambassador of RA in Lebanon, Mr. Ashod Kocharian, in the embassy of Armenia in Lebanon, in Beirut. After a warm welcome from the ambassador, the vice president of the committee, Mr. Yessayi Havatian gave a general introduction about the main events which are going to take place during August, and officially invited him to the commemorating events.

Worth mentioning the embassy of Armenia in Lebanon is going to sponsor the “Traditional MousaDaghian Night” which is going to take place on Thursday 19 August 2010. The ambassador expressed his gratitude for the invitation and promised to attend the events personally and wished success to the committee.

After the oath ceremony which took place on Saturday 22nd of May in the governorate Center of Bekaa, ARF “Garmir Ler” Committee in collaboration with the municipality council organized a reception ceremony on Sunday 24 May 2010,k at 6:oo pm in the front yard of “S.Zetlian” center. The opening and congratulating words were made by Mr. Hagop Aintablian, on behalf of the ARF “Garmir Ler” Committee , in which he congratulated the new mayor and the municipality council and wished them wisdom, strength and success in their plans, which are going to serve in flourishing and developing the village.

Then, he invited the new mayor, Mr. Garo Pamboukian, to convey his message. Mr. Pamboukian thanked all the presents and expressed his deepest gratitude to people of Anjar for their trust, he continued by telling that all the plans are going to be accomplished because he was sure that Anjarians are going to cooperate with each other as a team and aid in the prosperity of our beloved village.

The mayor then invited the pastors to make a prayer and bless their pathway. The reception ceremony continued by cutting of the victory cake and fireworks which enlightened the sky of Anjar. At the end, representative of associations and organizations congratulated the mayor and the council wishing them success and new achievements.

Being encouraged form the success of the first seminar, the educational committee of Lokh “Aghatamar” Chapter organized a second seminar which took place on Thursday 20 May 2010, starting from 10:00 am in the “S.Zetlian” center.

The seminar had two themes; the first one was about Stress Management presented by Ms. Shaghig Khudaverdian (child-educator-psychiatrist) on a PowerPoint presentation, where she introduced new methods to be adopted by the parents in dealing with their children always keeping in mind to abandon the overwrought quick decisions. Ms. Zepure Berberian (a social worker) presented the second theme of the seminar which was about the Parent-School collaboration and the importance of such teamwork on the students’ behavior.

The second seminar which also was another successful event ended at 2:00pm including a lunch break. We congratulate LOKH “Aghtamar” chapter for such an achievement, which is offering to our women the chance to get introduced to new methods to raise their family on healthy and strong bases.

Lokh "Aghtamar" Chapter had invited all the representatives of communities and associations to a Memorial Mass in the "St.Paul" church on Sunday 16th of May,  for the souls of all former LOKH members.

After the holly Mass a reception was held in “Filhanessian” center where wishes of success and words of appreciation were made to the LOKH family of our village.

Celebration feast of "Hampartsoum" was organized by LOKH "Aghtamar" chapter on Wednesday 12 May 2010, at 2:00pm in the "Nabaa Anjar" restaurant.
The feast continued till 5:00pm, where they played games, sang, danced and enjoyed the delicious food.

Mr. Kevork Hadjian, a familiar face to all of us, but an eminent one not only to us but to the whole world. He was able to prove himself as a talented musician and an endowed tenor with his special voice.

In 2008 he recorded his first CD titled “Firstling Inspired By Gomidas” , which included 19 songs by Gomidas with Levon Javadian’s piano accompany.

In 2009, he was able to record his second CD, a bouquet of 12 sacred songs titled “Bless You” dedicated to his teacher Mr. Kevork Kandaharian. The songs are in partnership of “Sharakan” ensemble and by the financial support of the “Punik” all Armenian fun d for the development of the human resources. The releasing ceremony took place on first of April in the “Kevork Kandaharian” hall of Nor Aintab school no. 1. 

Beside a large number of honored guest and compatriots, chairmen of the foundation and the Aintab’s Hayrenagtsagn Miyutun were present in the ceremony too. After presentation of his new CD, Mr. Hadjian charmed his audience with his spectacular voice and signed his CD to everyone. We congratulate our prominent Mousadaghian-Anjarian musician wishing him further achievements and successes especially to his third release who was already been recorded.

On Friday 7 May 2010, all mothers of Armenian Evan. Sec. School were invited to celebrate Mother's Day in the "Hedwig" Hall, where a special program was prepared for them.
Welcoming words were made by Mrs. Natalie Kendirjian, director of the kindergarten, then a PowerPoint presentation was screened from the daily activities of the kindergarten,  after which Mrs. Marina Aprahamian-Pilavjian was invited to convey the message of the day.

In her words, Mrs. Pilavajian said that the mother is the continuity of God's creation on earth, since she gives birth to a new life which ensures eternity.

Later, ladies who serve in our medical institutions (Karageozian and Lokh Medical Center) were honored for their incessant contribution and the children of the Kindergarten gracefully presented songs and poems on the occasion, while the cake was cut by the oldest and the youngest mother.

The event ended by the prayers of Rev. Raffi Mesrlian.

Anjarians are getting ready for the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of Anjar establishment and the 95th anniversary of MousaDagh Heroic battle, which is going to be held from the 6th to the 22nd of August.

The committee in charge invited the villagers and the representatives of the associations to a meeting in the "S.Zetlian" center on Friday, 7th of May to discuss the details of the celebrations and the pilgrimage to Mousler.

Mr. Yesssayi Havatian, a committee member talked about the details of the celebrations and answered the questions of the audience.

On Saturday 8 May 2010, Mr. Misak Keleshian was invited by Hamazkayin "B. Sevag" Chapter to present his "Vorperou Agherse" documentary film to our compatriots at 7.30 pm in the "Mousa Ler" hall.
The opening words were made by the chairman of of the chapter Ms. Lousig Der Kalousdian, where she welcomed the attendants and expressed her deepest gratitude for the contribution of Mr. Keleshian which gave our compatriots this great chance, then she presented the biography of Mr. Misak Keleshian and invited him to present his film.

                              
For more than one and half hours Mr. Keleshian presented his film, which revealed German archives for the first time. The attendants left the hall, with spirits filled with sorrow and proud at the same time.

The list of the Municipality Council candidates and “Mekhtar”s backed by the ARF party, was officially released in the media on Tuesday, 4 May 2010.
It is worth mentioning that elections did not take place in Bourj Hammoud, as a result of the efforts of ARF Central Committee of Lebanon. This is considered a victory for the Armenian community in Lebanon, especially for the ARF, which proved to be the legitimate representative of the Armenian people.
In a time when Lebanon is boiling on the fire of elections, and elections are being cancelled in many towns and villages because of the electrified and hostile climate among the people, our community serves as a good example of coexistence and containment of each other for our Lebanese brothers.
