  • Mrs. Hranoush Hagopian In Anjar

    On Thursday 25 March 2010, the front yard of the "St. Paul" church was full of hundreds of compatriots, including students of the three schools, representatives of different active organizations, the three pastors beside the mayor of Anjar, Mr. Sebouh Sekayan and ARF "Garmir Ler" Committee to welcome RA Diaspora Minister, Mrs. Hranoush Hagopian, who was accompanied by the ambassador extraordinary & plenipotentiary of the republic of Armenia in Lebanon Mr. Ashod Kocharian and the founder of the "Punig" Foundation, Mr. Capriel Chemberjian.

    The guests arrived to Anjar at 4.oo pm, where they were welcomed by the traditonal "Daoul Zourna" & with "bread and salt" who was presented by the H.M.E.M Scout members.

       

    Then, they headed towards the Mousaler Martyrs' monument where she layed flowers and headed towards "K. Guilbenkian" Hall to have a meeting with our compatriots.

     

    Welcoming words were made by the chairman of ARF "Garmir Ler" Committee, Mr. Hagop Aintablian, in which he expressed the great happiness of Anjarians in welcoming their representative in their own village, who has come to strengthen the tie of Diaspora to Armenia. Then, the ambassador presented the Minister and invited her to convey her message.

    Mrs. Hranoush Hagopian expressed her endless pleasure in being in such an Armenian village like Anjar, then she went over the main plans and the achievements of the Ministry of Diaspora and stated that she represents the seven million Armenians who live outside Armenia. The minister spoke about strengthening the tie of Armenia and Diaspora especially with the Armenian youth, afterwhich she answered to the questions raised by our compatriots.

    At the end of the meeting, the mayor Mr.Sebouh Sekayan honored the minister by the Mousaler Martyrs' golden logo.

     

    After the gathering, the guests visited the three educational institutions and               "S .Zetlian" Center where they had a meeting with the representative of the village.


  • Diaspora Minister Of RA Visited Anjar

    Thursday, 25 March 2010 was a festive day to Anjarian Armenians. The central square of Anjar was decorated by the Lebanese and the Armenian flags, to welcome the Diaspora minister of the Armenian Republic Mrs. Hranoush Hagopian who visited Anjar at 4.30 pm.

  • "Michink"

    This year "Michink" was celebrated on Wednesday 10th of February 2010, in the    "St .Paul" church in the presence of large crowd of believers beside the "K. Guilbenkian" big family.

    During the ceremony, Rev. Father Ashod Karakashian spoke about the true and the religious meaning of "Bahk" and especially the "Michink" period.
    At the end of the prayers, the Women’s Committee of the Church distributed breakfast (Manaish) to the believers and the students.


  • Celebration Of Teachers' Day By Hamazkayin "B.Sevag" Chapter

    On Saturday 13 March 2010, Hamazkayin "B.Sevag" chapter has invited the teachers of our schools to celebrate together the teachers day at 5:00 pm in the "S. Zetlian" center.
    On behalf of the "B. Sevag" Chapter, the chairwoman of the committee, Ms. Lousig Der Kalousdian made the opening words, by saying that honoring the Armenian teacher especially the Anjarian teacher is a sacred commitment on a cultural committee like Hamazkayin, since they had given a lot to build up the upcoming generation from the days of Anjar establishment till today.

    Ms. Der Kalousdian continued by underling the decent values of the Armenian teacher, their patience, serenity and their infinite sacrifice. She finished her words by saying that the Armenian teacher will remain to be the sunbeam through which all the coming generations are going to be enlightened.

    Then Ms. Helena Kerzezian played a wonderful piece on violin, while Ms. Lale Andonian played another magnificent piece on flute, after which Ms. Nare Tazian gracefully recited a poem.
    After presenting the speaker of the day, the chairwoman of the chapter invited Mrs. Anoush Trvants to convey her message.

                               
    Mrs. Trvants stated that Armenian people are people who love teachers and have a great respect and worship towards them. She continued by telling that our students widen the horizon of their knowledge through the unlimited efforts of their teachers. Teachers, whose duty is not only to teach academic lessons to their students, rather is like a guide, who helps the students in each and every sphere of life, by giving the right advice. They are future makers, since none of the achievers in this world has attained a feat without the guidance of a teacher.

    At the end of the commemoration the elder and the youngest teachers were invited to cut the cake.


  • Obituaries

    With our deep sorrow we inform you the sudden death of Mrs. Ani Janbazian (51 years), that happened on Friday, 12 March 2010 at her home.

    The funeral service is going to take place on Saturday 20 March 2010, at 2:00pm in the "St. Paul" church.

    On Tuesday 16 March 2010, Mr. Movses Metlian ( Datlig, 90 years) passed away after suffering from illness for a long period of time. The funeral service took place on Wednesday, 17th of March at 2:00pm in the "St.Paul" church.

    Our deepest condolences to both families and relatives.


  • An Ideal Community Lifestyle ... In Yerevan

    On Friday 5 March 2010, members of the Cascade Hills Residential Complex advertisers visited Anjar to give a detailed explanation about the Cascade Hill residential complex in Yerevan, which is located in the most idyllic of settings in upper Yerevan in Armenia.

                                               

    For more than an hour, they gave a general introductions and spoke in details about the construction programs and the facilities provided to the new holders by the Hamra Real estate of Armenia.


  • A Memorial Service For The Soul Of Our Martyr Zaven Tashjian

    On Sunday 7th of March, a special Memorial Service took place for the soul of our martyr, Zaven Tashjian at the "St. Paul" Church, in the presence of the family members, relatives, representatives of associations and organizations in the village and large number of compatriots.
    The condolences were then received by the family members and ARF “Garmir Ler” Committee members, in the "S.Zeitlian" center, after which they visited the cemetery to pray and light a candle in front of Zaven Tashjian's grave.


  • An Academic Youth Gathering

    On Saturday 20 February 2010, the Youth Council of the ARF “Garmir Ler” Committee has invited the academic students of the village (the Bac. II grade and university students) to a gathering around a cheese and wine table, at 8:00 pm in the “Mousa Ler” hall.

                                
    The aim of the gathering was to get introduced to their main problems, listen to their points of views about the issues concerning our village and its future.

                                              

    On behalf of the organizing council, Mr. Garo Panboukian and Ms. Lousig Der Kalousdian conducted the gathering, listened to their difficulties and gave them the chance to express their opinions and make their suggestions. Worth mentioning that Dr. Sebouh Aintablian, a lecturer in the LAU university, was also invited to give his experience in this field and help the students in their university life.

    This was the second successful organizing event of the council aiming in closing the Anjarian youth together and strengthening the tie of the Anjarian youth with their village.


  • A New Aintabian

    On Sunday 14th of February 2010, our compatriots in Germany Dr. Asbed and Mrs. Vehanoush Aintabian were blessed with their first child, a baby boy, Nareg. Congratulations.


  • Congratulations!!!

    Congratulations to our compatriots Mr. Varant Karakashian and Ms. Suzie Karoghlanian who tied their knot and said their "I Do" on Sunday 7th of February, 2010, at 4:00pm in the "St. Paul" Church.


  • Three Anjarian Dentists In The A.D.A.L

    On Wednesday 24th of February 2010, the Armenian Dentist Association of Lebanon elected its new committee members among which three were our Anjarian dentists.

    Dr. Sebouh Manjain: the chairman, Dr. Saro Ghougasian: the secretary and Dr. Panos Taslakian, committee member.

                                                              

    We congratulate them and wish them further achievements.


  • Obituary

    On Saturday 27 February 2010, Ms. Arsho Nersesian passed away after having a heart attack in her home.

    The funeral service took place on Sunday at 2:00 pm in the "St. Paul" church.
