  • Christmas Day In Anjar

    On January the 6th, the Evangelical and the Orthodox churches of Anjar were full of people who had come to celebrate the birth of Jesus.

     

    After the Mass, the vestry and the women's associations of "St.Paul" Church invited the people to a gathering in "K. Guilbenkian" hall.

       

    During the gathering, Rev. Father Ashod Karakashian congratulated the New Year of our compatriots and prayed for peace and love of the Armenian Nation.


  • The Christmas Eve

    On the 5th of January at 4:00PM after the mass that took place in "St. Paul" church, the choir of the church visited the houses to announce the birth of Jesus. Later at midnight, the bells of the church invited the people to participate in the Christmas prayers.

     

     

    Rev. Father Ashod Karakashian, the choir, and the people  marched to the central square of Anjar singing Christmas rhymes, and placing the candles in front of the renovated cave announcing the birth of the Savor. Then, visited "S. Zetlian" Center were Christmas wishes were made by the Education Council of "Garmir Ler" Committee, the leaders of the three communities and ARF "Garmir Ler" Committee.

     


  • A Special Youth Evening

    At 1.30 am of the New Years' eve "K.Guilbenkian" Hall was full of two hundred Anjarian youths (16-25 yrs.) who had come to participate in the special youth gathering organized by the ARF "Garmir Ler" Committee's "Anjarian Youth" council.

    The theme of the gathering had as a slogan, the famous words of our commander Karekin Njteh: "If you want to predict the future of a nation, look at its youth".

    To increase the festive mood of the gathering four young compatriots conducted the feast, Mr. Sarhad Aprahamian, Ms. Sevan Atamian, Ms. Armig Dukenjian and Mr. George Sherbetchjian.

    In their opening words all conductors stressed on the important role that they, as Anjarian youth should play to maintain the prosperous and the flourishing aspect of our village. They also memorialized the 70th anniversary of Anjar establishment, spoke about the acting organizations in our village, mentioned that 2010 is the year of environment and stressed on the youths' responsibility in the continuity of all these features.

      

    During the gathering the results of the logo competition organized by the website council of the ARF "Garmir Ler" Committee was announced. The first winner was Mr. Sarhad Aprahamian, while Nanor Taslakian won the second place. A special souvenir was given to all participants which represented the logo drawn by Nanor Taslakian.

       

    Later, the conductors invited the youth to the stage to increase the festive mood of the gathering with their dances. The event continued with funny games and the festive atmosphere continued till the early hours of the morning.

     

    All went home with high festive spirits, congratulating the council for such an achievement and promising  to assist the council in their upcoming events.


  • Celebrating The New Year's Eve

    After welcoming the New Year with their families, Anjarians rushed to make their first prayer of the year in the "St.Paul" church and meet their relatives and friends in the yard of the church.

     

     
    The gathering which was organized by the "Anjarian Youth" Council of the ARF "Garmir Ler" Committee started with the beats of the traditional Daoul Zourna inviting people to dance and welcome the new in festive mood and continued by lightening the sky of Anjar with wonderful fireworks.

     

      

    On behalf of the council, Mr. Garo Pamboukian welcomed the compatriots and made the warmest wishes of the council, hoping that 2010 would be a prosperous year, filled with peace and happiness not only to Anjarians but also to the entire Armenian nation.

     

       


  • Anjar Commemorates ARF's 119th Anniversary

    The ARF Anjar “Garmir Ler” Gomideh commemorated the federation’s 119th anniversary on 20th of December at 5.30 pm in the “Mousa Ler” Hall.
    After the Lebanese and the Armenian anthems the attendants stood a moment of silence in respect to all ARF martyrs, after which Ms. Shogher Taslakian made the opening words on behalf of AYF “Shavarsh Misakian” Chapter, by stressing the important role of ARF during the past 119 years in defending Armenian population’s rights.

    Then, the chairman of the gomideh Mr. Hagop Aintablian passed the message of the committee on the occasion mainly speaking about the convolutions facing our village in maintaining its Armenian uniqueness and tremendous role of the ARF in facing these obstacles. He urged all Anjarians, youth and elders to congregate with each other to preserve the Armenian identity of our village.

     

    Message of the day was conveyed by Mr. Vicken Avakian, where he gave a presentation on the ARF’s position on the Armenia-Turkey protocols and mentioned that ARF is in an uneven war in this issue. He continued by telling that for more than a century ARF was fighting to ensure the legal privileges of Armenians and will continue its missions though with tremendous sacrifices.
    The commemoration event ended by a bunch of Armenian revolutionary songs performed by the singer Serop Hagopian from Beirut. 


  • Obituary

    With our deepest sorrow we inform you the death of Mr. Hovsep Gudeshian (75 yrs.) that happened on Tuesday 22nd of December, after suffering from illness for a short period of time. The funeral service took place on Wednesday, the 23rd of December at 2:00pm in the "St.Paul" Church. Our deepest condolences to his family.


  • Christmas Feast Of Lokh "Aghtamar" Chapter

    On Friday, 11 December 2009 LOKH "Aghatamar" Chapter organized its annual Christmas feast in restaurant "Arev" beginning from 2:00 pm in the presence of more than 175 compatriots.

       

       
    The opening words were made by the chairman of the executive committee, Ms. Tsoghig Havatian who welcomed the LOKH comrades and wished them a joyful feast, later she invited the conductor of the day Mrs. Azadig Daghlian.


    The feast continued in a cheerful atmosphere created by the singer Garo Geokeozian from Beirut, where our compatriots sang, danced and spent wonderful time especially during the Santa's visit.


  • Merry Christmas And Happy New Year!!!

    ARF “Garmir Ler” Committee wishes Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all Armenians in Armenia and Diaspora and especially to all Mousadaghians all around the world, wishing them a healthful, successful and a prosperous year.
