  • April 23..."Hsgoum"

    ARF LEM “Shavarash Misakian” chapter organized a vigil on the eve of 23rd of April at 8:30pm, a day before the 24 April Armenian Genocide commemoration. The three pastors, representatives of committees and association, and a large number of compatriots were present to the event, which was held in the “Hedwig” hall.             The event started by the Lebanese and the Armenian anthems played by the H.M.E.M. Anjar Fanfare, after which Nare Havatian made the opening of the event by stressing on the importance of the unification of the Diaspora and the RA forces to struggle and defend ourselves against the threatening and intimidating efforts of Turkey.

         

       

    "Haratch & K.Guilbenkian", Arm. Evan Secondary School and the Arm. Catholic Sisters' School students were able to to create a spectacular national atmosphere with their theatrical scenes, recited poems and patriotic songs.

       
    "Haratch” Badanegan chapter’s “badaniner” and “gerdserner” represented a theatrical scene and gracefully recited "Bidi Inas" Of Vahan Tekeyan. The spaker of the day was Mr. Vartkes Khoshian, who after speaking about the crimes done by the Turkish Government said that it is not the time to weaken the Armenian forces, he continued by saying that soon or later Armenians will regain all their rights.

    The event continued by two Armenian pieces played by Raffi Taslakian (on guitar) and Lale Andonian (on flute), after which H.M.E.M. Anjar Fanfare lead the attendants towards the Mousaler Martyrs' monument where flowers were placed and a prayer was made by the three pastors for the soul of the 1.5 million martyrs.


  • Events Dedicated To Armenian Genocide 95th Anniversary Held In Anjar

    Number of events dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the Armenian genocide were held in Anjar starting from April 17 to 24. The second event was a "Cultural Event", organized by the alumni association of the Arm. Evan. Sec. School.        

                                 
    The opening words were made my Mrs. Marina Pilavdjian in which she stressed on the importance of the continuous struggle in the aim of conquering the victorious end.
    She demanded from the attendants to be the honorable fighters and the strugglers of the heroic battle of Mousa Dagh and presented the soul of the Mousadaghian fighter through a poem. Then the students gracefully recited poems, played musical pieces and presented a play (The Bar of Siamanto).

                                    


    The third event, a poetry night of Ani Yepremian, was organized by the Educational Council of the ARF "Garmir Ler" Committee took place on Thursday 22nd of April at 8:00pm in "Mousa Ler" Hall.
    Mrs. Ani Yepremian charmingly recited the "Anlreli Zankagadun" of our famous poet Barouyr Sevag accompanied by Khajag Khachadourian on violin. With her great emotional performance she was able to present the different life stages of Gomidas' life making her audience leave the hall filled with his great national spirit.

       

    George Azad Apelian's Photos Exhibition. This was the forth event of the commemoration of the 95th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. The openining of the exhibition took place on Friday 23rd of April  2010 at 7:00pm in the new constructed hall of Arm. Evan. Sec. School.

    The opening words were made by Mr. George Apelian, who highly appreciated his devoting work. The exhibited photos which counted fifty represented the architectural monuments of the Eastern and the Western Armenia.

  • A Lecture About "Armenian-Islamic" Tribes

    The first event for the commemoration of the 95th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide took place on Saturday 17th April 2010, at 8 pm in the "Mousa Ler" hall. The event was organized by the Educational Council of the ARF "Garmir Ler" committee having as a lecturer Mr. George Apelian, who spoke in details about the Armenian-Islamic tribes of the Kamishli and Hasake regions in Syria by presenting some valuable pictures.

                                                


  • Chairman Of The National Assembly Of RA Visited Anjar

    April 12 2010 will stay a date of remembrance in the history of our village. It was the day when the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Armenian Republic Mr. Hovik Abrahamian and his delegation who were giving an official visit to the Lebanese government visited Anjar. Prior to the welcoming , ARF "Garmir Ler" committee members, Mayor of Anjar Mr. Sebouh Sekayan, religious leaders, representatives of different associations, students of the three schools beside a big crowd of compatriots were gathered in the central square of the village. The delegation arrived to Anjar at 6.30pm which was accompanied by Minister Arthur Nazarian and the Lebanese Ambassador in Armenia Mr. Ganriel Jaara.

       

       

    After the "bread and salt" ceremony, the reassembled Fanfare of H.M.E.M Anjar Branch lead the delegation and the big crowd towards "St. Paul" church, where the traditional "Dhol Zourna" and the dancers gave a warm welcome, then the chairman headed towards the Mousaler martyrs' monument and placed flowers for the soul of the Mousadagh martyrs.

       

    The official gathering took place in "K. Guilbenkian" hall, where the opening words were made by Mr. Hagop Aintablian on behalf of the ARF "Garmir Ler" Committee, and a respectful program was presented by the students of "K.Guilbenkian" and Arm. Evan. Secondary schools.

       

    Chairman of the National Assembly Mr. Hovik Abrahamyan was invited to convey his message. After expressing his deepest gratitude for the warm welcome, the chairman spoke briefly about the current issues concerning the republic of Armenia after which the mayor Sebouh Sekayan honored him with a special souvenir, which represented the monument of Mousaler.


  • A Spectacular Artsakhian Cultural Night In Anjar

    During the last week, a group of professional Artsakhian artists (including painters and musicians) have been visiting Lebanon to offer An Artsakhian week under the auspices of Artsakh Ministry of Higher Education and Science Mr. Vladig Khachadurian.

       

       
    The concert in Anjar took place on Sunday 11 April 2010 at 7:00 pm in the "K.Guilbenkian" hall, which was crowded with hundreds of Armenian music admirers. Chairman of ARF "Garmir Ler" Committee, Mr. Hagop Aintablian welcomed the artist, after which the stage was invaded by our Artsakhian young musicians who dazzled the audience with their spectacular performances for two hours.

    Worth mentioning that the minister of the Higher Education Mr. Vladig Khachadrian was also present during the concert.


  • "BEIRUT WORLD BOOK CAPITAL"

    On Saturday 10th of April, the alumni association of the Arm. Evangelical Secondary School of Anjar had organized a special event to celebrate the announcement of Beirut, World Book Capital for 2010.

    The event was under the auspices of the Minister of Culture Mr. Salim Warde.

                                 

    The opening words were made by Mrs. Manoushag Shannakian on behalf of the alumni association, which was followed by a lecture about the renaissance of the Arabic language by Dr. Mikhael Haddad, and another one about the renaissance of the Armenian language by Mr. Jirair Tanielian.

                                

    The program of the event was followed by a musical performance and recitation poem.


  • A New Taslakian!!!

    We congratulate Mr. & Mrs. Tro and Maggie Taslakian who were blessed with their first child a baby boy, Antranig on Thursday 25 March 2010. Congratulations...


  • Children's Day

    On Sunday 28 March 2010, LOKH "Aghtamar" Chapter organized children's day in the "K. Guilbenkian Hall.

                               

    The Children were able to spend wonderful time with the Easter clown, which created joyful and lovely atmosphere by making the children dance, sing and participate in various fun activities.

       


  • Easter Sunday!!!

    Large number of believers attended the Easter Mass, which took place in the three churches of Anjar.

       

    In the "St. Paul" church the Mass followed by a reception in “K. Guilbenkian” hall organized by the Vestry and Women Association of the church.

     


  • "Krisdos Haryav E Merelots..."

    ARF "Garmir Ler" Committee of Anjar sends its best regards to all our compatriots and all those who visit our site, wishing a HAPPY EASTER to everyone.


  • Holly Week Of Easter

    According to our religious traditions, all the ceremonies of the Holly week of Easter took place in Anjar starting from Thursday afternoon, where the ceremony of “Vodenleva” took place in our churches, which was followed by the “Latsi Kisher” at night.

     

    On Friday the ceremonies of the funeral of Jesus Christ took Place with the moving Procession (Tapor) in the streets.

                                                    

    Many of our compatriots attended the Holy ceremonies trying to revive their Christian faith and be the one with Christ on that day of His suffering. 

                               


  • Obituary

    With our deep sorrow we inform you the death of Mrs.  Suzan Stamboulian, that happened on Thursday 25 March 2010, after suffering from illness for a long period of time.

    The funeral service took place on Monday 29 March 2010, at 2:00pm in the "St.Paul" church.


  • Palm Sunday

    On Sunday 28 March 2010, Anjarians celebrated Palm Sunday, where children were seen in their best colorful cloths holding their decorated candles accompanied by their parents heading towards the churches to celebrate the victorious entrance of Jesus to the city of Jerusalem.

     

                                   
    The three churches of Anjar invited the believers to be present at the ceremonies which will be held during this week getting ready for Easter.

     

    In the afternoon, the ceremony of "Terenpatsek" took place at 4:00pm.


  • Commemorative Event For Sarkis Zetlian's Abduction 25th Centenary

    March 28 1985, was a black day in Armenian history, because it was the day when our famous leader, Sarkis Zetlian was kidnapped never to be found again.
    To commemorate the 25th anniversary of his loss, ARF "Garmir Ler" Educational council has organized a commemorative event on Saturday, 27th of March at 8:00pm in "K.Guilbenkian" hall.

       
    After the Lebanese and the Armenian anthems, the opening words were made by Mr. George Apelian on behalf of the council, where he asked the attendants to stand a moment of silence for his soul, then he invited the representative of ARF "Garmir Ler" Committee to convey their message.

    On behalf of the committee Mr. Seto Havatian spoke about the dedication of Sarkis Zetlian to the ideological and moral integrity of the party and vowed to continue the fight started for the name of justice and freedom.

       

    The speaker of the day, Mr. Dikran Jinbashian, member of ARF Central Committee of Lebanon was invited to convey his message. After presenting the affluent biography of the prominent nationalist leader, spoke about his decisive role in developing and implementing the positive neutrality policy of the ARF. At the end of his words, Mr. Jinbashian said that Sarkis Zetlian was the person, the leader, the fighter, who although had a short life, saved nothing to protect the ARF goals and rights of Armenians.
    Then, Raffi Taslakian (guitar) and Lale Andonian (flute) played a musical piece on the occasion, after which the attendants were able to watch a DVD about his life. The event ended by a bouquet of national and patriotic songs performed by the "Ayk" choir of Hamazkayin having as a composer Mr. Zakar Keshishian accompanied by Mrs. Camilia Keshishian on piano.
