  • Weddings

    The first couple who married this weekend were Mr. Mher Ashkarian & Ms. Suzan Habeshian on Saturday 26th of September in "St. Paul" church at 5.00 pm.
    While on Sunday 27th of September, Mr. Nareg Garabedian married Ms. Ani Ghougasian at 7:00 pm, again in "St.Paul" church.

    Congratulations to the newly weds, their families and friends.


  • Congratulations!!!

    Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Varouj and Tamar Bakkalian who were blessed with their second child, a baby girl Kedag, sisiter of Khajag on Friday 18th of September.


  • "Khatch Sunday And Blessing Of Herisa"

    On Sunday September 20, a special Mass was held in the "St. Paul" church presided by Prelate of Lebanon Aram Khatcherian. The Mass was attended by three pastors of Anjar, representatives of ARF "Garmir Ler" Committee, official members of all associations of Anjar and a large number of believers.

     

                                  


    After the Mass, the procession of the spiritual personnel led the people towards the the MoussaDagh Martyr's Monument, to held a special memorial Mass for the souls of all Mousadghian martyrs and bless the "Herissa".

     

    At the end of the event all the attendants sang "Giligia" after which the "Herisa" was distributed to the people present, who were waiting anxiously


  • Khatch Saturday Eve...

    At around 9:30 pm people started to gather in front of the Mousaler Martyr's monument to attend the festival organized by the ARF "Garmir Ler" Committee's Organizational Council.
    The welcoming words were made by Mr. Saro Kendirjian in the name of the organizing committee, after which he gracefully recited a poem dedicated to the heroic Mousadagh.

     

     

    While conducting the feast Mr. Kendirjian read the first flier of the Central Committee of the 95th anniversary of Mousadagh Heroic Battle and 70th anniversary of the establishment of Anjar directed to all Mousadaghians, inviting them to the special events that are going to take place next year.

     

     

    The program of the festival consisted of two main parts: Musical and dancing sections. The dancing part was occupied by the Hamazkayin "B.Sevag" chapter's "Gakavig" dance group, having as a conductor Ms. Kayane Madzounian (Juniors, middle and seniors).

     

     

    Our talented dancers amazed the audience with their different dance themes and especially with their last dance on the rhythms of our traditional Daoul Zourna,  where it was also accompanied by the participation of the audience.

     

     
    The cheerful mood was continued with the participation of new Lebanese-Armenian talented singers, Ms. Patil Harboyan, Ms. Marine Krikorian, Mr. Serop Hagopian and well known singer Mr. Manoug Minasian, who created joyful atmosphere with their Armenian national, folkloric and patriotic songs.


  • Sculptures' Exhibition Of Ashod Tazian

    "Nature, Idea & Expression" was the theme of the sculptures of our talented artist and sculptor Mr. Ashod Tazian. The opening ceremony which was under the patronage of Haroutioun Torossian, took place on Friday 19 September at 8:00pm in the "K.Guilbenkian" hall. After cutting the ribbon people were invited inside, where Mr. Yessayi Havatian made the opening words on behalf of the organizing committee, and invited the painter Haroutioun Torossian to delivered his speech.

     
    Mr. Torrossian thanked the Committee, which willingly undertook the task of organizing this exhibition. He mentioned that for years he had followed the works of Ashod Tazian and was always amazed by his enthusiasm, consistency, and imagination. He confirmed that Tazian is a model of the folk artist, who had came to life from the bosom of the people, who lives with the people and who creates for the people.

     
    Tazian exhibited 94 works having various themes, such as “Father Gomidas,” “Crucification”, “The martyrs of Lisbon”, “Khachadour Apovian,” “Genocide”, “Struggling Woman”, “Punished Woman”, “The wise”, “The king of Babel”, “Yeghishe Charents”, “Nigol Aghpalian”, “Madonna” and others.

    Each sculpture had its unique tone, presenting a single character or a theme with unique artistic formation, adaptation of media, and diversity.


  • Khatch Saturday Afternoon!!!

    Although we had rain showers during Friday night, but thousands of Armenian compatriots from all over Lebanon and Syria started pouring into Anjar from Saturday, getting ready to commemorate the 94th anniversary of the Heroic Battle of Mousadagh in their ways.

     
    The main road of Anjar took its traditional “Khatch” look with the people crowded on the streets and tents and kiosks besides the roads. The kiosks were selling different kinds of food, beverages, hand made articles and different kinds of products. This year the AYF "Haratch" Chapter had their own kiosk near the “St. Paul" church, selling different kinds of sweets and beverages.
