With our deep sorrow we inform you the death of Mrs. Isgouhi Lakisian (Kevorkian), that happened on Saturday 27th of June after suffering from illness for a long period of time.

The funeral service took place on Sunday 28th of June at 3:00 pm in the "St.Paul" church. Our deepest condolences to her family and relatives.

The administration of "K.Guilbenkian" Secondary School has organized its annual painting exhibition for its students on Thursday, 25th of June in the "Mousa Ler" hall.

The opening words were made by the principal of the school Mr. Armen Tashjian, where he welcomed the attendants, congratulated the students and their parents and thanked all those who had contributed to the he success of this exhibition especially the teacher, Mr. Raffi Andonian.

              
Then he invited our well known artist Aghassi, who conveyed the message of the day by saying that the students are very talented and need the encouragement of their parents to develop their talent and reach to professionalism.

The ribbon was cut by Mr. Raffi Andonian, Aghassi and the principal Mr. Armen Tashjian, after which they went inside to enjoy the paintings of the young artists...

On Tuesday 2nd of June, Ms. Taline Bakkalian was invited by LOKH "Aghtamar" Chapter to give a lecture about stroke.

For an hour the attendants were able to hear Ms. Bakklaian speaking about the n risk factors leading to stroke and the conditions that may rise in a person after being attacked by a stroke.

On Sunday 21st of June, the students of Hamazkayin "P. Ganachian" Conservatory visited Anjar to have their first performance in our village at 7:00 pm in the "Mousa Ler" Hall.

Thirty students playing on different instruments (piano, violin, dhol, doudouk & guitar) amused their audience with their wonderful musical pieces.

On Sunday 14th of June a Memorial Mass was held in the "St. Paul" for the souls of LOKH “Aghtamar” Chapter comrades, where all representatives of communities and associations were present.

After the holly Mass a reception was held in “Filhanessian” center where wishes of success and words of appreciation were expressed for the great efforts of LOKH .

Mr. Raffi Pamboukian tied the knot with Ms. Salpie Habeshian on Saturday 13th of June, at 7:00 pm in the "St. Asdvazazin" Catholic Church.

Congratulations to the newly weds, their families and friends.

Everyone in Anjar was waiting for that special day to come.

That day was June 7 2009, the day of the elections in Lebanon
No one was still, everyone was on duty, beginning from our local Anjarians to our beloved compatriots from abroad (Armenia, USA, Canada, France, Egypt, Italy, Sweden, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Syria), who counted in hundreds and who had come to express their own national duty on that day.

From the early hours of that day, “Sarkis Zeitlian” Center which was the main station of the election looked like a beehive, it started to welcome all the compatriots from Beirut and Damascus and lead them to the voting centers. Not far from the center, the comrades of the women associations of Anjar were preparing the food and serving the people.

           
The voting centers in Anjar, which were distributed among the three schools, the Municipality and the H.M.E.M club, started to welcome the voters from 7.00am till 7:00pm. All our compatriots, aged and young, headed towards the centers and paid their national duty and voted for the candidates of the “ALketle Alshabiye” leaded by Mr. Elie Skeif, including the candidate of the “Tashnag” Party in Bekaa, Mr. George Kasarji.

                                     
During the day  our candidate, Mr. George Kasarji visited the center, who thanked our compatriots for their great efforts. Despite the results, our compatriots once again came to prove their presence in the Lebanese community and by their votes were able to increase numbers of voters in Anjar to 2500, which was a great success.

On June one our compatriots Sevag and Liza Kendirjian living in Kuwait were blessed with their first child, a baby girl Seza. Congratulations...

By the organization of the ARF Central Committee of Lebanon and ARF "Garmir Ler" committee , a huge election gathering took place just a week before the Lebanese parliamentary elections, on Sunday 31 of May in the front yard of the "S.Zetlian" Center.

               
During the gathering, all members of the "Alketle Alshabiyeh" of Bekaa headed by agricultural minister Mr. Elie Skef were present beside the candidates of the Armenian Block and the central ARF committee members of Lebanon.

               
The opening words were made by Mr. Vatche Zadourian, where he spoke about the importance of this election to the Armenian community mainly by reestablishment of the Armenian block.

On behalf of the ARF Central committee, Arabic words were made by Mr. Avo Gidanian, where he introduced the picture of the Lebanese elections since the year 2000 and spoke in details about the injustice that was made during the latest elections against the Armenian community, where the Armenian Block was only represented by two members. He continued his speech by telling that ARF has never betrayed its allies and never will.

                
Successive speeches were made by the candidates of the "Alketle Alshabiyeh", Mr. Fuad Turk, Mr. Hasan Yacoub, Mr. Salim Aoun, Dr. Kamil Malouf, Mr. George Kasarji, Dr. Rida Almays and Mr. Elie Skef. All of the candidates mentioned the importance of this election and mainly the cooperation between the ARF, "Alketle Alshabiyeh" & " Takatol Altaghyir Ou Al Islah" which will lead to success.

               
Armenian words on behalf of the ARF Central Committee were made by Mr. Yessayi Havatian, where he spoke about the uniqueness of the elections in Anjar, which is characterized by voting the whole list of the ARF candidates.

               
Then, Mr. Hagop Pakraduni, the first elected MP member was invited to convey his message. In brief lines he raised the importance of the Armenian community in the Lebanese society, the politics of the ARF and its allies, then he continued his speech by telling that our comrades never give their vote to treacherous people and remain faithful to the history of the ARF.

                
At the end of the gathering Mrs. Shake Baghdasarian, Mr. Vicken Dischekenian and Mr. Setrag Hovigian were invited to increase the spirits of our compatriots who were present in hundreds with their Armenian national and patriotic songs.
