  • Obituary

    With our greatest sorrow we inform you the sudden accidental death of our compatriot Raffi Ghougasian (27 yrs.) that happened on Friday 26th of September in Beirut.

    The funeral service is going to take place on Saturday 27th of September at 2:00 pm  in the "St. Paul" church.  Our deepest condolences to his family, relatives and friends.


  • The New Executive Committee Of HMEM Anjar Branch

    On Wednesday 24th of September HMEM comrades were gathered in the HMEM Club to elect their new executive committee who had the following figure:
    Hayg Keshishian : The chairman - Lena Stamboulian - Sebouh Boyadjian - Sebouh Stamboulian - Vicken Karigian - Kapo Atamian - Karoun Kendirjian - Ani Keosheian and Shiraz Kendirjian. Congratulations!!!


  • The New Formed Dance Group Ended Its Summer Sessions

    The new formed dance groups of Hamazkayin "B.Sevag" Chapter ended its summer session by a picnic in the " Nareg's Beach" with the presence of their teacher Mrs. Nathalie Boudakian-Khachadourian and the dance committee.

                           

                           

    For almost all the day they swam, played games and had fun in their own special way.


  • The Celebration Of The 93rd Anniversary Of The Heroic Battle At Camp Arev

    The celebration of the 93rd anniversary of the Heroic Battle of Mousadagh was celebrated by our Mousadaghian compatriots of US in the Camp Arev (LA), which was organized by our Los Angeles Chapter of MousaLer Association, on Saturday 20th of September.

    A special Mass was made on Sunday where the prepared "Herisa" was blessed by the Reverends Nareg Shirikian and Khoren Habeshian before it was distributed to the crowd. 


  • Obituary

    With our deepest sorrow we inform you the death of Mr. Hagop (Jack) Hergelian    (54 yrs.) that happened on Saturday 20th of September in Kuwait after suffering from illness for a short period of time.

    The funeral service is going to take place on Tuesday 23rd of September at 2:00 pm in the "St. Paul" Church.  Our deepest condolences to his family and relatives.


  • A Group Of Anjarians Visited Mousadagh

    A group of 45 anjarians lead by Mr. Sebouh Boyadjian visited MousaDagh on 15th, 16th and 17th of August, where they were able to visit the different villages and be present to the blessing of the Grapes and the "Herisa" which was prepared on the occasion of "Asdvazazin".

                                

     


  • Obituary

    On Sunday 14th of September our compatriot Boghos Chelderian (85 yrs.) passed away after suffering from illness for a short period of time. The funeral services took place on Monday 15th of September at 3:00pm in the "St. Paul" church. Our deepest condolences to his family. 


  • "Khatch Sunday And Blessing Of Herisa"

    On Sunday September 14, a special Mass was held in the "St.Paul" church which was presided by the Prelate of Cyprus Archbishop Varoujan Hergelian was held in the presence of the three pastors of Anjar, representatives of ARF Central Committee of Lebanon, ARF "Garmir Ler" Committee, official members of all associations of Anjar and a large number of believers.

       

    At the end of the event all the attendants sang "Giligia" after which the "Herisa" was distributed to the people present who were waiting anxiously.


  • Khatch Saturday Eve...

    It was around 9.30 pm when all people were gathered in front of the Mousaler Martyr's monument to attend the festival organized by the ARF "Garmir Ler" Committee's Organizational Council.

    At the beginning a speech was made by Ms. Lousig Der Kalousdian in the name of the organizing committee. In her words Ms. Der Kalousdian mentioned that by taking that decisive decision (ascending the mountain) people of Mousadgah created one of the heroic pages of the Armenian history. She continued by telling that we are gathered here today to commemorate the 93rd anniversary of this heroic battle and to vow continue their path.

    Ms. Der Kalousdian ended her speech by saying that MousaDagh-Anjar will continue to survive as long as we are the descendants of that heroic people.

    The event started to take its festive mood when the "Gakavig" Children's  Choir of the Hamazkayin "B.Sevag" Chapter having as conductor Mr. Sebouh Kevorkian and as pianists Ms. Lale Havatian and Ms. Lorry Aintablian, who performed a bunch of Armenian songs, then the new formed dance groups (Juniors & Seniors) of the Hamazkayin "B.Sevag" chapter elegantly performed three Armenian dances after which the turn was given to the Choir of the AYF "Haratch" Chapter, who performed five patriotic and national songs.

    The cheerful mood was continued with the participation of our well known Lebanese-Armenian singers Mrs. Carmen Adjemian and Hratch Gayzagian who created joyful atmosphere with their Armenian folkloric and patriotic songs.

    Exactly at midnight, our traditional Daoul Zourna was the climax of joyfulness, where hundreds of compatriots encircled around the conventional music of the past and memories.

                              

                              


  • Koko Garabet's (Sekayan's) First Exhibition In Anjar

    On Saturday 13th of September, at 8:00pm hundreds of compatriots were gathered in front of the "k.Guilbnekian" hall for the opening ceremony of our anjarian artist's first exhibition in his beloved hometown Anjar, who is a resident of Italy, in the presence the three pastors and representative of the ARF "G.Ler" committee.

                                   

    After cutting of the ribbon with his parents and his former teacher Mr. Haroutun Torossian, Mr. George Apelian on behalf of the Organizational council of ARF "Garmir Ler" Committee made the opening words by presenting the artist Koko Garabet, specially mentioning his talents and the success of his previous exhibitions around the world. Then invited his former teacher Mr. Haroutun Torossian to convey his message.

                                

    After speaking about his preliminary works in the "Toros Rosline" Art Academy he highly evaluated his professional art and wish him success in his path.
    At the end Koko Garabet expressed his deepest gratitude to all who contributed for the success of his exhibition and highly appreciated the encouragement of our compatriots.

                               

    The exhibition remained open on Sunday, where thousand of compatriots were able to enjoy his wonderful paintings.


  • Khatch Saturday Afternoon...

    Thousands of Armenian compatriots from all over Lebanon and Syria started pouring into Anjar from Saturday, getting ready to commemorate the 93rd anniversary of the Heroic Battle of Mousadagh in their ways.

                             
    The main road of Anjar took its traditional “Khatch” look with the people crowded on the streets and tents and kiosks besides the roads. The kiosks were selling different kinds of food, beverages, hand made articles and different kinds of products.

                              
    This year the AYF "Haratch" Chapter occupied the former snack house near the “S. Zetlian” Center and made different kinds of sandwiches beside anjarian traditional sweets and foods. The LOKH “Aghtamar” Chapter’s Hand Made Production Center had a boot near the "S. Boghos" Church. The wheat was washed and prepared by the LOKH ladies and after that the “Herisa” was being cooked near the Mousadagh Martyr’s Monument. All the visitors had to come and watch the “Herisa”pots, thinking if they might have the chance to taste it the next day.

    With our deep sorrow we inform you the death of Mr. Noubar Kevorkian, who passed away on Wednesday 10th of September. The funeral services took place on the same day at 3:00 pm in the "St.Paul" Church.

  • Program Of The 93rd Anniversary Of The Heroic Battle Of Mousa Dagh Is Set

    The celebration of the Heroic Battle of Mousadagh here in Anjar is going to take place on this weekend that is on Sunday September 14.
    In this respect, we can say that that the ARF "Garmir Ler" Committee's Educational Council has already started to plan the celebration events of the 93rd anniversary of the Heroic Battle of Mousa Dagh in collaboration with the active associations of Anjar. Here is the list of the celebration events that are going to take place:

    ***On Saturday, 13th of September: An art exhibition of Koko Garabet (Sekayan) at 8.00 pm, in the "K.Guilbenkian" Hall.
    Later at night, a musical concert in the Mousa Ler Martyr’s Monument area, by the performance of the Hamazkayin "Gakavig" and AYF "Haratch" Badanegan Choir, the new dance group of the Hamazkayin "B.Sevag" Chapter with the participation of our well known Lebanese-Armenian singers Hratch Gayzagian and Mrs. Carmen Adjemian.
    On Sunday, September 14: A Mass is going to take place in the churches, considering that the Heroic Battle celebrations coincide with the Christian "Khachverts" Event, after which the "Herisa" will be distributed to the people.

  • Fresno Mousadaghians Celebrated The "Forty Days Of Mousa Dagh"

    Mousadaghian compatriots of Fresno celebrated the heroic battle of Mousadagh on Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st of August under the beats of our traditional Davoul Zourna and with the distribution of the "Herisa" after its blessing.

           

     

    Worth mentioning that our Los Angeles mousadaghian compatriots are going to celebrate the 93rd anniversary of the battle at Camp Arev on the September the 14th.


  • Photographer Henry Koundakjian In Anjar!!!

    On Friday 29th of August, Mr. Henry Koundakjian, an international Armenian photographer was invited by the Cultural committee of the Hamazkayin "B.Sevag" chapter to give a lecture about photography in the front yard of the "S.Zetlian" center.
    For an hour, Mr. Kounadkjian spoke about his years of experience in photography and shared his memories with our compatriots.
