  • Engagement

    Congratulations to our athlete and artist Mr. Levon Tashjian who got engaged to our compatriot Ms. Tamar Indjeyan on Sunday 26th of October in the "St. Paul" church. We wish them happiness and best of luck.


  • The Feast Of The Translators

    The Feast of the Translators (Tarkmanchats Don) was celebrated at the "Hedwig" Hall on Friday 24th October By the organizational committee of the Hamazkayin "B. Sevag" Chapter. A cultural program was prepared with the participation of the students of the three schools of our village.

       
    The program started with opening words of the chairman of the organizing committee Mr. George Apelian, who welcomed the audience and invited the keynote speaker, Father Sdepanos Pashayan to deliver his speech.
    In his words, he outlined the history of the invention of the Armenian alphabet, as well as the translation of the Bible into Armenian by Mesrop Mashtots, Sahak Partev and their students.

     

    The students sung hymns, songs and recited poems dedicated to the “translators”. In his closing speech he underlined the important role the Armenian Alphabet has played in the history of our nation. He appealed to the students never to forget their mother tongue, “because”, he emphasized, “due to the divine alphabet, we have not only created our literature, but also preserved our faith, culture and national character.

    Our deepest sorrow to the family of Mr. Rosdom Kazanjian (82 yrs.) who passed away on Thursday 23rd of October, after suffering from illness for long period of time. The funeral service is going to take place on Friday at 2:00 pm in the "St. Paul" Church.

    Congratulations to our compatriots Mr. Hagop Andonian and Ms. Zepure Kjdrian, who said their "I Do" on Saturday 18th of October in the "St. Paul" church.


  • A Baby Boy!!!

    On Wednesday 15th of October our compatriot Mrs. Heghnar Hergelian-Andonian and her husband Mr. Aram Andonian had their first child, a baby boy Hrair. Congratulations..


  • Obituary

    With our deepest sorrow we inform you the death of Mr. Vartan Yeretsian, that happened on Wednesday 15th of October after suffering from illness for a short period of time. The funeral service took place on the same day at 2:00pm in the "St. Paul" church.

    Our compatriot Ms. Patil Hadjian got engaged to Mr. Sevag Kbranian in the White Tower Hotel in Beirut on Sunday 5th of October. We congratulate the new couple and wish them happiness...


  • Obituary

    Mrs. Sima Bidanian (81 yrs.) passed away on Saturday 4th of October. The funeral service took place on Sunday at 2:00 pm in the "St.Paul" Church. Our deepest condolences to her family and relatives.


  • Special Mass Ceremony For The Soul Of The Comrades Of The "St.Paul" Church Women's Association

    On Sunday October the 5th, a special Mass ceremony took place in the "St.Paul" church for the soul of the comrades of the "St.Paul" Women's Association. After the mass people gathered in the "k.Guilbenkian" hall where the Rev. Ashod Karakashian conveyed the message of the day in the presence of the Church vestry, the women's association and a large bunch of compatriots.


  • Harvest Day

    Instead of the ordinary table With the Holy Bible with the candles above, the alter of the Armenian Evangelical Church was full of samples of this season’s Anjarian harvest, during this Sunday Prayer. All kinds of vegetables and fruit were piled on the ground starting from corn, apples, grapes, tomatoes, potatoes…and etc.

     

    The Women’s association of the Arm. Evan. Church was busy for the last two weeks getting ready for the harvest day, they have been gathering donations from Anjarian citizens and organizations, and as Rev. Raffi Mesrlian revealed that this Sunday a lot of donations beside fruit and vegetables were gathered, which was to be offered to “KAHL” the Armenian Organization for the aged and blind, which had also sent representatives to the Harvest day.


  • Back To School!!

    Every morning the streets of the village are full of children heading to school loaded with heavy bags, the taste of the hot summer days still in their minds, when they didn’t have to wake up so early, and had nothing to do but play all day long…but no matter the weight of their heavy bags…they all seem happy…
    The 3 schools of Anjar have opened their doors for the students with the hope of an academic year full of successes.
