  • Obituary

    With our deep sorrow we inform you the death of Mr. Garabed Balabanian   (85 yrs.) that happened on Wednesday, 28th of March.
    The funeral service took place on Thursday, 29th of March at 3:00 pm in the "St. Paul" Church, Anjar. Our deepest condolences to his family and relatives.


  • One Gold And One Silver Two Bronze Medals...

    The first competition of Kung Fu & Wushu organized by the Lebanese Kung Fu & Wushu Federation took place on Sunday, 25th of March in the "Aghpaleian" Center in Beirut.
    Of course our Anjar Black Belt Amity members participated in this match included eight different Kung Fu Clubs, and won one gold, one silver medal and two bronze.
    We congratulate our students and wish them further successes.
    ***Gold Medal: Boys ( 14-16 yrs.) Nan Quan 46: Mossig Nashalian.              
    ***Silver Medal: Girls ( 6-9 yrs.) Jian Shu: Naroy Atamian.
    *** Two Bronze Medals: Boys: (6-9 yrs.) Jian Shu: Garen Andonian

                                               Boys: (6-9 yrs.) Chang Quan 16: Varant Keosheyan

                      
    Worth mentioning that the next competition is going to take place in Anjar, on May 13th.


  • A Great Success...

    Around 1000 compatriots, between parents, students and friends of “K. Gulbenkian” Sec. School, were gathered in restaurant “Arev”, to take part in the school's trustee board annual feast on the 17th of March at 9:00PM.

                  

    The feast was under the auspices of Municipality of Anjar, and under the patronage of Mr. & Mrs. Alan Taburian. After the anthem of the school played by the students, the principal, Mr. Armen Tashjian welcomed the presents, talking about the assisting role of each Armenian to keep the Armenian schools standing upright. Then Mrs. Taline Stamboulian welcomed the guests in Arabic Language.

                                

    After that. Mr. Yesayi Havatian and Mr. Seto Havatian conducted the feast by creating a warm atmosphere. The "Gomidas" Band and the Singer Hovsep from Aleppo, created a joyful atmosphere extending the feast till 4:00 am. It is worth mentioning that a substantial amount of donations were gathered, partially easing the financial situation of “K. Guilbenkian” Sec. School.

  • The Feast Of "Michink" Organized By The Women's Association Of The "St.Paul" Church

    The Feast Of "Michink" Organized By The Women's Association Of The "St.Paul" Church, took place on Friday, 16th of March at 2.30 pm in the restaurant "Arev". After a prayer by Rev. father Ashod Karakashian, Mrs. Sona Douzmanian made the opening words and invited Rev. Norayar Noradungian to convey the message of the day. Rev. Noradungian talking about “Michink” said, ““Michink” is not a religious celebration only but also a national and popular tradition that reached us from our ancestors. He continued, “Keeping our Traditions alive is one of the fundamental means to guarantee the survival of our nation”.

                              

    Then they danced and spent wonderful time with the special Armenian songs which was played by DJ Boggy. (Boghos Kendirjian)

                 


  • The Crazy March!!!

    After our compatriots were going to welcome the Spring, suddenly the weather changed and on the morning of Thursday, 15th March, we all woke up to see that the snow was covering the grass, the trees and the cars.

    It  really proved that it is a crazy month.

                      


  • "Michink"

    This year the “Michink”, was celebrated in the middle of fasting season, on Wednesday, March 14th, in the “St. Boghos” Church.
    In the presence of a large number of believers, and the students of The Haratch “K. Gulbenkian” Sec. School, Rev. Father Ashod Karakashian talked about obeying the parents and teachers and being a nice person in the eyes of God.
    At the end of the prayers, the Women’s Committee of the Church distributed breakfast to the presents.

                                              


  • A Lecture About Kidneys In "Filhannesian" Center

    On Tuesday, 13th of March, at 10:00 am, LOKH "Aghtamar" Chapter invited Dr. Wael Ali Abou Taha, to talk about the kidneys in general and especially about inflammation of the urinary tract.

    With our deep sorrow we inform you the death of Mr. Markar Tumberian (63 yrs.) that happened on Saturday, 10th of March, after a sudden apoplexy.
    The funeral service took place on Sunday, 11th of March at 2:00 pm in the "Arm. Evan. Church, Anjar. Our deepest condolences to his family and relatives.


  • Alumni Association Of "K.Guilbenkian" Sec. school Congratulating The Teachers...

    On Thursday, 8th of March, The Alumni Association of "K.Guilbenkian" Sec. school congratulated the teachers of the schools, wishing them patience and endurance in the hard job that they are doing. Happy Teachers they to all our teachers...

                                       


  • International Women's Day...

    On Thursday 8th of March, LOKH "Aghtamar" Chapter organized a breakfast feast in the "Casino Ain Anjar" restaurant to celebrate the International Women's Day in the participation of more than 100 women.

                                           

    After the opening words by Mrs. Shogher Dermenjian, Mrs. Lisa Tumberian was invited to convey the message. Form more than three hours the women enjoyed the delicious breakfast, and were able to watch and hear different opinions about women in our society on a big screen. 

                               


  • A Memorial Service For Their Souls...

    On Sunday, 4th of March a special Memorial Service took place for the soul of our three martyrs, Zaven Tashjian, Sarkis Zetlian and Bedig Injeyan in the "St. Paul" Church, in the presence of  the family members, relatives, representatives of   associations and organizations in the village and large number of compatriots.

                                                     

               

                                               

    The condolences were then received by their family members and the “Garmir Ler” Committee members, in the "S.Zeitlian" center, after which they visited the cemetery  to pray and light a candle for their souls in front of Zaven Tashjian's grave.

                                                


  • The 40 Days Preceding Palm Sunday...

    Our compatriots beside fasting 40 days preceding Palm Sunday and abstaining from all animal products: meat, poultry, eggs and milk, as our Armenian Church's rule prescribes, they also strengthen their faith by attending all Lenten church services, that take place on Wednesday and Fridays, faithfully, always remembering that Lent is a time of solemn yet joyous preparation that makes as arrive spiritually strengthened and renewed to celebrate Easter.
