  • For The Soul Of Hrant Dink...

    On Sunday January 28th, after the Holy Mass, a memorial services of the prominent Armenian journalist, Hrant Dink, who became the latest victim of Turkey's outrageous campaign of denial and intolerance, was held in the presence of the representatives of different organizations and associations, and a large number of compatriots in the "St.Paul" Church.

                      

    We will continue to say that: "We are all Hrants" and may his soul rest in peace.


  • Obituary

    With our deep sorrow we inform you the death of Mr. Hovhanes Andonian that happened, on Thursday, 25th of January. The funeral service took place on Friday at 1.00pm in the "St. Asdvazazin" Church.

    Our deep condolences to his family and relatives.


  • A Lecture About "Amana Care" Products...

    On Saturday, 20th of January, the Educational Committee of Lokh " Aghtamar" Chapter has organized a lecture about "Amana Care" Products having as a lecturer Dr. Ramy Al Jamal.

                                                 

    For more than two hours, Dr. AlJamal gave a deep explanation about the benefits of the natural herbs and fruits by which "Amana Care" products are made of and how people suffering from different kinds of diseases were able to be cured by this product. At the end he answered to the questions of the listeners.


  • How To Prevent Our Youth From Drugs?

    The Parent's Committee of "K.Guilbenkian" secondary school has organized a lecture about the negative consequences of drugs and how can we prevent our youth from its damages, on Friday, 19th of January in "Mousa Ler" Hall.

    After the opening words by Mrs. Ani Dukenjian, she invited members from the     "Horizon" office of Beirut, which is an Armenian organization, that concerns about drug addicts and helps them to come out of their addiction.

                                

    Mr. Harout Arabian and Ms. Houry Jinbashian spoke about the different kinds of drugs, their negative effect on ones body and ways of communication with our children to prevent them becoming addicts.


  • One Gold And Three Silver Medals...

    The first competition of Kung Fu & Wushu organized by the Lebanese Kung Fu & Wushu Federation took place on Sunday, 14th of January in the "Aghpaleian" Center in Beirut.

    Of course our Anjar Black Belt Amity members participated in this match and won one gold and three silver medals. We congratulate our students and wish them further successes.

  • Celebrating The 116th Anniversary of ARF...

    On Saturday 13th of January, "K.Guilbenkian" hall was full of Anjarians, who had come to celebrate the 116th anniversary of the establishment of ARF with a special Anjarian taste.

                              
    The official guests were Mr. Mgerdich Mgerdichian, a member of ARF's Board, the chairman and members of Lebanese ARF Central Committee, principals of schools and representatives of all active organizations of Anjar.

                     
    The celebration started with the Lebanese and Armenian anthems. Mr. George Apelian, on behalf of the Executive council of ARF "Garmir Ler" Committee, in his opening words stated that ARF has been devoted to the Armenian cause from the day of its establishment and will continue to struggle for its final goal, which is a free and independent Armenia.

    The opening words were followed by Nareg Vartanian, a member in AYF "Haratch" Chapter, reciting a piece of Avedik Isahagian. The words of ARF "Garmir Ler" Committee were conveyed by Mr. Setrag Havatian, where after mentioning the role of ARF in Mousadagh's history he said that ARF "Garmir Ler" Committee comes to save no effort for serving the Anjarians and the Armenians.
    During the event a PowerPoint presentation, prepared by the website committe of ARF "Garmir Ler" Committee, was shown which showed an abstract about the ARF activities from the day of its establishment till today.

                             
    Then Mr. Mgerdichian was invited to convey the message of the day. After talking about the latest improvements in economical, social, political and educational fields of the world, he said that we should be alert enough to face the difficulties in these domains and make our youth feel responsible to provide a safe pathway for our main objective, although it would be full of obstacles and difficulties.
    Then members of AYF "Haratch" Chapter played two national songs on the stage, which increased the spirit of the compatriots and the event was finished by " Meshag" Panvor" anthem.


  • The Agenda Of Anjar Black Belt Amity

    The agenda of Anjar Black Belt Amity for the year 2007 includes the pictures of the medal winners who raised the name of their amity in the Lebanese society during the last year.

    We wish them new achievements and further successes during this year.          

                                                                                                              


  • The Hamazkayin Ball...

    Hamazkayin “B. Sevag” Chapter organized its traditional Christmas Ball, on Saturday 6th of January in Restaurant Arev, in the presence of more than 750 people.
    Ms. Lia Kehouhlian, on behalf of Hamazkayin "B.Sevag" chapter made the opening words and invited Mr. Zakar keshishian and Mr. Sahag Andekian to convey their messages.

                                 
    The singers of the day were Lebanese-Armenian Singer,  Hratch Gaidzagian & our well known Armenian singer, Arsen krekorian, who along with the conductor of the eve, Mr. Boghos Majarian created a happy mood, which directed the ball to its success.

     We hope that the ball provided some of the financial needs of the organization in order to continue its cultural commitments in our town.

      


  • Christmas In Anjar...

    As every year, this year too after the mass that took place in the "St.Paul" Church, on January the 5th, the choir of the church visited the houses to announce the birth of Jesus. Later at midnight, the bells of the church invited the people to participate in the Christmas prayers. 

                             
    And On January the 6th, the Evangelical and the Orthodox churches of Anjar were full of people who had come to celebrate the birth of Jesus.

                             

    After the Mass, the vestry and the women's associations of "St.Paul" Church invited the people to a gathering in "K.Guilbenkian" hall.

    The aim of the gathering was to enhance the process of congratulating one another, and starting the New Year with a strong will of cooperation, to accomplish the heavy task of keeping life going in a smooth way in our beloved village.

                             


  • Merry Christmas & Happy New Year...

    ARF “Garmir Ler” Committee wishes Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all Armenians in Armenia and Diaspora and especially to all Mousadaghians all around the world, hoping that 2007 will be a peaceful and a prosperous year to everyone.


  • Santa Clause Visiting "Gakavig" Children's Choir & AYF "Haratch" Grdserner

    During this week, Santa Clause didn't forget to visit "Gakavig" Children's Choir students and AYF Juniors (Grdserner).

    For more than two hours they danced, sang Christmas songs, recited poems and spent wonderful time with Santa.      

              

                   


  • Celebrating The New Year's Eve

    After celebrating the zero hours of 2007 with their families and close friends, hundreds of Anjarians gathered in "Sarkis Zeitlian" Center for a collective and traditional celebration of the New Year. 

     

    Everyone was in a festive mood and all danced on the beats of the traditional Davoul Zourna.  After a prayer by Rev. Father Ashod Karakashian and Rev. Raffi Meserlian,  on behalf of the Educational Council of the ARF "Garmir Ler" Committee, Mr. Geroge Apelian welcomed the people and wished them a happy New Year and a Merry Christmas, hoping that 2007 will be a peaceful and prosperous one for Lebanon, Armenia, Artsakh, Armenians of the Diaspora, and the Anjarians. 

                                

    Once again the Davoul Zourna was invited and the traditional Anjarian dances were performed after which Liquor and Chocolate were offered to our compatriots who counted in hundreds.  And of course our Santa Clause didn't forget to visit our children and distributed a Christmas bag to them, and a CD containing traditional Armenian songs to all our compatriots.
